“Brian’s Peaceful Place” is more than a Florida sunset—it captures a view that is part of the story of The Venue at Matlacha.

Specially painted by Art LaFranchise, this scene depicts the waterfront directly behind The Venue, looking out from the property across the water as the sun disappears beyond the horizon. The dock reaches into the foreground while layers of orange, lavender, pink, and blue stretch across the sky and reflect back from the water.

This is also one of Brian’s favorite paintings by Art, and it’s easy to understand why. It captures the peaceful side of Matlacha—the moment at the end of the day when the water settles, the sky changes color, and you can simply stand behind The Venue and watch the island put on its show.
